A long used species in the Japanese bonsai work, the Princess Persimmon has become increasingly popular in the US for their beautiful fruit display. They were from the seed in the attached photo; we collected the fruit, let them dry, then harvested the seed. These unsexed seedlings are two years old and container grown. They have not fruited or flowered yet, but the parent tree had round orange fruit. Please note that only female plants fruit. Male and female plants are often necessary for fruit to form on the females.
we’ve found that 1/10 are female on average.
We have about 18 to offer for sale.
they are small but have plenty of roots. Next year they should triple in size.
We are very happy to order these rare plants.
