A long used species in the Japanese bonsai work, the Princess Persimmon has become increasingly popular in the US for their beautiful fruit display. These were grown for one year by a friend of the nursery whose had a long obsession with Persimmon trees and offered them to use to plant, grow and now distribute. These were collected from seed of his parent plants, stratified, germinated and grown for a year until they wound up here last spring and potted individually. These unsexed seedlings are two years old and container grown. They have not fruited or flowered yet, but the parent tree had round orange fruit. Please note that only female plants fruit. Male and female plants are often necessary for fruit to form on the females.

It’s a slow process to get these to this point, hence the price point. We have about 26 to offer for sale.

We are very happy to order these rare plants.
