The Japanese Gardenia we grew from seed a few years ago. They are also offered via bare root from fall until spring. Really nice plants to have around and prized in Bonsai circles around the world, especially in the shohin Bonsai world. Fast growing and they prefer warmer climates. We over winter them here in Maryland with bottom heat mats and in an unheated greenhouse.
They may come with or without leaves. During cooler months, the foliage can turn a lighter green/yellowish and they green up when warmed up.
When mature, they have white flowers. Beautiful and fragrant too.
