*These are 5 year old Japanese wisterias we had growing wild until this past summer of 24’ where we cut them back to get low growth. These came from our original crop of Japanese Wisteria that we haven’t had seeds for in the past few years. The roots blew way out of the bottom and we trimmed them back this fall. We’ve got a total of 23 of them and the trunks range from 1/4-1/2”. In the pictures you can see the exact flat these will come out of. Sorry, we don’t pick out individual pieces. Your purchase will get 1 of them, we used a stock photo of 3 to show how they differ but all are very nice for bonsai or landscape use.
The Japanese Wisteria, known as Fuji in Japan, is a wonderful flowering species that is one of the first flowers of spring. The Japanese Wisteria thickens up quickly and responds well to drastic pruning when young. The species flowers before leaves emerge, so it is a wonderful display in early spring. They make take a few years after purchase to get old enough to flower. Grown from seed at Kaede Bonsai-en, these trees are well established in 2 1/4" containers.

Climate: Hardy in Zones 4-8, this is another great species to get flowers in a colder climate.
Care: The Japanese Wisteria enjoys high amounts of water and fertilizer during the growing season. Some growers choose to partially submerge their pots during the heat of summer to prevent drying out.
Notes: This is a deciduous tree and therefore will not have foliage during the winter.
